An artist and a gamer.

Hello everyone, my name is Karo Fermanyan. I am the lead artist for our upcoming game 'savage'. Unlike most game makers we started this blog just as we decided to make our first game.  So as you can imagine we don't have much to show at the moment. I can, however, tell you all a little more about myself just so you know what kinds of people are making savage.

First and foremost, I am a gamer. I have been hooked on games ever since my grandma bought me an SNES when I was a child. I spent hours trying to get to all the secret levels and paths in Super Mario World, bombing bases in Super Strike Eagle, and riding a motherfucking rhino in Donkey Kong Country!

Of course I started playing games at a very magical point in time. The SNES was getting older and it was time for a new form of games to hit the market. 3D games finally hit the shelves as the face of gaming, and my life, changed forever! I still remember that faithful day I went over to my cousins house only to see him playing a game, but this was no ordinary game. It was a game on the PS1, in all of its 3D glory. Just looking at Crash Bandicoot run down the great wall of china left me in awe.

It was only a matter of time before I got my own PS1. In no time I was customizing robots in  Armored Core, failing at raising digimon in Digimon World, and crashing into walls like a moron in Gran Turismo! Then my sister broke my PS1 less than a year later (thanks Linda).

The breaking of my PS1 turned out to be a blessing when my parents got me a new PC! Thankfully my parents didn't know much about PCs at the time so they just bought a $1300 computer with some sweet specs(at the time) for my school work... I didn't do any schoolwork with it. No my friends, in just a few short weeks my gaming life was re awakened as I was killing skeletons in Diablo, yelling because I couldn't pass the license test in Driver, and racing for hours in Need For Speed 3!

With the PC came one awesome little program, MS paint. Yes my friends, the one program I spent hundreds of hours on was a program that let me draw lines on my monitor without my parents getting pissed. I spent entire days trying to draw different things, from cars, to blood, to bloody cars. I was obviously very creative at the time.

Over time I was introduced to programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, and 3DS Max. I loved all these programs to death, and still do. So when I found out that I can use those programs to make games, well, you can only imagine my excitement.

Here I am today, ready to make some sweet visuals for an awesome game. Thanks for reading!
